Last week, Mask announced that the tunnel will begin to build in January, and a few days ago the builders already embarked on to work.

The mask is not going to be limited to one tunnel, but first of all it expects to make an underground road from SpaceX office to the nearest highway - this will save time and do not stand in traffic jams. Despite the fact that many noted the futility and unprofitability of this idea, Ilon Mask started implementing the project. Yes, in order to dig a tunnel through the territory that does not belong to the Mask, it is necessary to collect a lot of documents and to assure the project in the administration of the district where they are going to conduct work, so for now the tunnel is being digged on the territory of SpaceX, where Mask is free to do whatever he pleases.

In addition to laying the tunnel, Mask intends to make a pedestrian crossing through the highway, which runs near the building SpaceX.
