The Institute
The Institute is founded by Silicon Valley billionaires, many of whom are businessmen, including Peter Til, head of PayPal. The idea of autonomous artificial island states is that the companies located there will be able to get rid of taxes and will not be subject to various legislative restrictions.
Representatives of the Institute of Systeming argue that such an archipelago can become the basis of a society of the future. Freedom, own governments, new homes for the disadvantaged and a lot of jobs all promise French Polynesia only a favor, but there are still many unresolved issues.
The first version of the project the parties intend to discuss at the end of 2018. If everything goes well, construction can begin as early as 2019. The preliminary cost of the project is estimated at 225 million US dollars, the annual maintenance of each island will cost about $ 8 million.
