Google has been working on “Project Wing” for a long time - a service for delivering goods by drones. The company even turned to NASA for help in fighting bureaucracy and obtaining the necessary permits, and, apparently, in the near future the service will still be launched.
Google representatives report that the company's main goal is the start of commercial flights by 2017. Currently, the company is actively working with the US Federal Aviation Administration, helping him to develop a system for registering drones. Such a system should be created by December 20 this year, which will allow all companies involved in the industry to get clear "rules of the game", where and when to launch drones.
As David Vos from Google said, his company wants to reserve low heights (4.5 kilometers and below), coincidentally bearing the name "Class G", for flights over the cities. If the US authorities allow commercial drones to fly at such heights, this will become a strong impetus to the development of commercial drones.
