From the ISS will be conducted around the clock HD broadcast of the Earth

С МКС будет вестись круглосуточная HD-трансляция поверхности Земли

It is unlikely that anyone will deny that the view of our planet from space is a fascinating sight. Soon, any of us can see our planet in HD quality thanks to the efforts of UrtheCast from the Canadian city of Vancouver. This company will join forces with the agency NASA to broadcast live HD-video from cameras installed on board the International Space Station.

"Just a few months site of our company will begin to broadcast live video from four cameras attached to the ISS module, owned by the European Space Agency ESA. These cameras have been operating for about a year, but for the first time anyone can see the surface of the Earth in real time, ”Scott Larson, head of UrtheCast, told reporters.

Prior to this, UrtheCast was installing two cameras on the Russian module of the ISS. The camera has already been commissioned, and the video camera transmitting the image in HD should start broadcasting only in the summer of 2015, as soon as the main tests have ended. These two cameras are able to monitor the state of the environment on our planet, help crop specialists and even distinguish any social events on the surface.

UrtheCast also announced that another video camera and radar will be installed on the orbital space laboratory in 2017.
