The urban legend of Nessie, a monster from the Scottish Loch Ness, has haunted enthusiasts and scientists all over the world for many decades. According to the legend, a certain prehistoric creature lives in this lake, but it is not so easy to see it, as it tries not to rise to the surface of the reservoir, hiding at its bottom. Thousands of people visit the lake to the south-west of the port city of Inverness every year in the hope that luck will smile on them. If you can't afford a trip to Scotland, then Google Street’s Street View service will come to your rescue.
As you know, Google is engaged in the global Street View project, the goal of which is to create a kind of virtual map of large settlements, as well as various significant places. Virtual models are created with the help of a car with a 360-degree camera fixed on it, thanks to which accurate virtual impressions are created along the entire route of the vehicle. One of the places included in the lists of attractions of the world, was the legendary Loch Ness.
Now you do not have to go to rainy Scotland to try your luck in tracking down the ancient monster. You can only drive on Google Maps
To add the lake to the Street View list, Google had to join forces with specialists from the Catlin Seaview Survey, who helped the search giant do the underwater work. Below you can watch a small promotional video dedicated to this important event for Street View.
Be sure to share with us if you can find something interesting on Google photos.
