# video of the day | Amazing weekday star named Sun

Удивительные будни звезды по имени Солнце

To celebrate the fifth anniversary of the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) launch into space, the NASA space agency published on its YouTube channel an amazing video demonstrating the Sun in all its epic glory. These shots were taken in the course of long studies of our luminary. During the five years of existence of this space observatory, 2600 terabytes of valuable data were received from it, including 200 million photographs of the sun. In total, the observatory spent 1826 days in outer space.

The Solar Dynamics Observatory is equipped with three instruments capable of obtaining 12 different types of images of the Sun. Each photo has a size of 4096 by 4096 pixels, which allows scientists to observe on the surface of the Sun details with an angular size of 0.6 seconds. Every 12 seconds, NASA specialists receive another image from the observatory, which is equivalent to 3 terabytes of data per day.

Say what you like, and the Sun really looks incredibly impressive and large in this fascinating video. But in no words can I convey to you the impressions of viewing it, so you should see everything yourself.
