Smartphone Galaxy Nexus will not receive an upgrade to Android 4.4 KitKat

Galaxy Nexus, representing the third generation of the Nexus line of devices from Google, to the great regret of its owners, will not receive the upcoming update of the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean will be the latest version of Android to be offered on this device.

This information is confirmed by Google in the user manual. Galaxy Nexus FAQ which states the following:

"No, Galaxy Nexus phones will not receive an upgrade to Android 4.4 (KitKat)."

The company tried to explain the reason for which such a decision was made.

“The Galaxy Nexus smartphone was released two years ago. New software versions are usually supported on devices released no earlier than 18 months before their release.
