Why are children of Bill Gates prohibited from using Apple products?

In an interview with British radio station Radio 4, Melinda Gates , spouse of Microsoft founder Bill Gates, said that she does not allow her children to use Apple products. For two daughters and a son on the gadgets Apple mother imposed a taboo.

When asked if Jennifer, Phoebe and Rory were asked to buy an iPod for them, Melinda answered categorically:

“Of course, they asked. But got a Windows device. We owe our fortune to Microsoft, why should we feed a competitor? ”

Back in 2009, before Microsoft introduced Windows Phone, Mrs. Gates behaved differently: she admitted to Vogue that she liked the iPhone:

"Sometimes I envy friends who have an iPhone."
