Symantec company engaged in the development of safety programs, most do not have enough of this with and my safety. The company announced to the press that an unknown group of hackers had stolen the source code of the pcAnywhere program and demanded a ransom for it. This illegal activity is attributed to “Anonymus”, which have already managed and continue to induce rustling at various companies.
Hackers require $ 50,000 for a refund code from Symantec. Otherwise, simply put the code in public access.
At the moment, Symantec has already managed to negotiate with hackers and even offered to pay them monthly redemption. Hackers rejected the proposal, and the negotiations are at an impasse.
Online correspondence between the company and the hackers was published, in which they indicated that the 2.3 GB pcAnywhere code archive would be sent to one of the popular bit-torrent sites if the company did not fulfill all the requirements.
But once “Anonymus” said that they are doing all this “for fun”.
