Motorola sold only 1 million tablets in 2011

Motorola published financial results for the fourth quarter of 2011, and disclosed digital figures of devices sold.

The company sold a total of 200,000 tablets in the fourth quarter. As a comparison, we give the number of Apple tablets sold over the same period - 15.43 million.

In total, the company has managed to sell only 1 million tablets for the whole of 2011, which is enormously less than what Motorola expected. But mobile phones and smartphones were sold for a year much better than tablets.

In the fourth quarter, Motorola shipped 10.5 million mobile phones. For the whole year, the figure reached 42.4 million, 5.3 million of which fell on smartphones.
